Viewers of CW's "The Flash" are used to witness the meta-humans, led by Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), battling the evil forces that are trying to take over the Central City. However, in the mid-season premiere of the hit TV series, the Scarlet Speedster will face a different kind of battle as he is being indicted for the murder of Clifford DeVoe (Neil Sandilands). Barry's family and friends, particularly Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin), will do whatever it takes to save him in the upcoming episode 10, even if it means to break the law.

To recall season 4's ninth episode titled "Don't Run," Barry found the lifeless body of DeVoe at his apartment, and by the time the police arrived in the scene, he knew that somebody is trying to incriminate him for a crime that he did not commit. Contrary to the episode title, Barry did not use his speed force to run from the authorities, thinking that he has to face this new dilemma if he wants his family to become safe. In episode 10 titled "Trial of the Flash," Barry and his allies will try to prove his innocence inside the court.

It is not clear who is responsible behind the murder frame-up, but according to a recap of the latest episode 10 teaser, it appears that Joe is also willing to take the law in his hands to get Barry out of trouble. The video clip from "The Flash" season 4 episode 10 shows Joe going to the DeVoe residence with the private investigator, Ralph (Hartley Sawyer). The latter seems to know about Joe's real motive, which is to plant evidence in the household to disprove the allegations against Barry.

Meanwhile, TVLine got the insider photos from "The Flash" season 4 episode 10, which reveals DC TV actor Mark Valley playing the prosecutor who will stop at nothing to put Barry behind bars. It is speculated that Valley will play Anton Slater from the famous comic book storyline "The Trial of the Flash." The set photos show Valley's character presenting the incriminating evidence inside the courtroom.

The path towards Barry's freedom could be difficult, although some fans speculate that the Scarlet Speedster can get out of this problem easily, and that is by finally revealing his real identity to the people of Central City. There is a chance that Barry will be automatically set free once the public knows that he is the speedster hero that have saved them many times since day one. However, his revelation as The Flash will certainly come with a price, risking his family and friends in the process.

"The Flash" season 4 episode 10 will air on Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
