Despite the falling out of his relationship with Callie (Maia Mitchell) in season 4, AJ (Tom Williamson) will still be much present in the upcoming season 5 of "The Fosters."

Many fans suspected that AJ would no longer be featured in the next season of "The Fosters" as, after all, his relationship with Callie is done and over with. To recall, the pair ended their relationship in last season's episode 17 titled "Diamonds in the Rough," where Callie admitted to AJ that she saw him getting kissed by another girl in the basketball court and did not resist. After AJ admitted to Callie that he liked the said girl, the two finally decided to call it quits.

As AJ's presence in "The Fosters" is tied to Callie, many fans think that the upcoming season of the Freeform drama would no longer feature Callie's ex. However, according to reports, AJ will still make his presence felt in the season 5 of "The Fosters." It goes without saying, though, that the character will not get as much screen time as he used to when he was still with Callie.

"We'll see AJ again. Now that he's not in a romantic relationship with Callie, we will see less of him for sure, but he's still present in our world and there's still stuff to be resolved and questions that we find quite interesting for him," revealed "The Fosters" executive producer Peter Paige in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Meanwhile, despite Callie now being in a relationship with Aaron (Elliot Fletcher), reports claim that her life will be far from being a bed of roses in the upcoming season 5 of "The Fosters." To recall, the season 4 finale of the drama series featured Callie in imminent trouble as she was being pimped by Diamond (Hope Olaide Wilson), who was unwilling to just let her go. As Callie left her phone in the car, there is no way for her parents to track her down. Furthermore, even if she survives the prostitution attempt, eventually, she will still have to face the felony case filed against her in the previous season.

"The Fosters" season 5 is set to premiere on July 11, Tuesday, at 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
