The tension between the Mutant Underground and Sentinel Services has turned into a full-scale battle. A new teaser for episode 11 of "The Gifted" shows that sides will be taken and the mutant hate will be as strong as ever.

The recently released teaser for episode 11, titled "3 X 1," shows Esme (Skyler Samuels) and her sisters, collectively known as the Stepford Cuckoos, seeking the help of the Mutant Underground.

This comes after Esme betrayed them, having played both sides in order to save her sisters in the previous episode. Esme killed so many members of Sentinel Services who were present, injuring the ever-so-determined agent Jace Turner (Coby Bell) in the process.

One bit from the teaser shows Jace at a funeral, most likely for his closest colleague whom Esme manipulated into killing himself during that confrontation. Jace walks with Dr. Roderick Campbell (Garret Dillahunt), the man responsible for creating the Hound program. The latter tells the agent that "the time for mercy is over," further fueling Jace's hatred for mutants.

Based on the preview, it seems that Sentinel Services will manage to track down the headquarters of the Mutant Underground, unleashing the Hounds to rip the place apart.

Another scene shows Polaris/Lorna Dane (Emma Dumont) telling Eclipse/Marcos Diaz (Sean Teale) that they will need all the help they can get. This goes back to a previous episode where it was revealed that the X-Men warned them that a war would be coming before they mysteriously vanished. This might be that war they were talking about.

Despite mentions of the famous mutant faction, there is a big question that the show has yet to answer: Where are the X-Men? With only two more episodes remaining, how will that question be answered?

Thankfully, Dumont has revealed some details about what to expect in the remaining episodes. In an interview with Bustle, the actress revealed that the show will definitely shed some light on the missing X-Men, as well as how the Mutant Underground was formed.

Dumont also explained that a big portion of the second half of the season will deal with Polaris and her parentage, as well as the consequences of being Magneto's daughter.

As seen on the show, Polaris can be quite a hot head, which is probably why she is a good match for Eclipse, but she had a noble cause when she formed the Mutant Underground with Thunderbird/John Proudstar (Blair Redford). Both were chosen by the X-Men to do so.

However, while Magneto will not be appearing on "The Gifted," his presence will still be felt as the season comes to an end. This will bring some internal conflict with Polaris. She will be at a crossroads with how to move forward with her life.

Dumont revealed to Den of Geek that Polaris will be torn between her own beliefs and what she thinks is the right thing to do and what she is born to do.

"The Gifted" is currently on its mid-season hiatus and will be returning on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
