"The Gifted" will have a mutant fly. Emma Dumont, the actress playing Polaris, revealed that her character will take flight at some point in the first season of "The Gifted."

Polaris, along with other Marvel Comics characters, made her debut in the show's premiere episode on Oct. 2. The episode received positive feedback from TV critics and the positive response has translated into ratings.

While there has been no foreshadowing on Polaris' ability to fly, Dumont revealed at New York Comic Con last week that her character will eventually fly. In the panel interview for the show, the actress was asked if she does her own stunts on the show. Dumont answered yes and said wearing wires helps her fly through the air.

"We do all of our stunts and there's a lot... No it's all us. Everyone's been working so hard. I know I have a lot of wirework, I fly now," she explained.

Polaris doesn't just manipulate magnetism with her hand gestures. She can also ride the magnetic field as a form of flight.

The actress was also asked about her character's mental illness. In the comics, Polaris dealt with bipolar disorder. In the TV version, Polaris was captured, pressured to reveal the whereabouts of her fellow mutants and later found out that she is with child. "The Gifted's" version of Polaris will also be battling emotional conflicts in the premiere season.

It seems that the show will not put any limitations on Polaris' powers regardless of how deep they dive into her mental struggles. The premiere episode was merely a teaser for what's to come in season 1.

It still remains to be seen if Polaris flying will make an impact, but the series is definitely on a hot start. Her combination of impressive superpowers and emotional turmoil makes her character one of the series' must-see mutants.

One of the other must-see mutants on the show is Blink, played by Jamie Chung, whose storyline will be fleshed out some more.

The synopsis for "The Gifted's" third episode titled "eXodus" reads, "In an effort to reunite with one another, Reed [Stephen Moyer] cuts a deal with the Sentinel Services and Caitlin [Amy Acker] and the kids seek help from someone outside the compound. Meanwhile, Thunderbird [Blair Redford] begins to teach Blink how to control her powers."

"The Gifted" airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EDT on FOX.
