"The Gifted" continues to be the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to its mutant characters.

The FOX TV show based on Marvel Comics' "X-Men" franchise has never let up ever since its premiere episode, giving the viewers tons of action and wicked special effects, especially in its latest episode "eXit Strategy."

The last part of the episode proved to be epic as the Mutant Underground movement and Sentinel Services faced off again, with the mutants winning this round. There were also reunions for the Strucker family as well as Polaris (Emma Dumont) and Eclipse (Sean Teale).

Another good part of the episode was the introduction of another mutant who goes by the name Pulse, played by Zach Roerig.

The mutant, who was created by Peter Milligan and Salvador Larroca, made his first comic book appearance in "X-Men vol. 2" #173 back in 2005. Pulse, whose real name is Augustus, has deep connections to both Professor X and the villainess Mystique. In the comics, he served as Professor X's mole before getting in bed with the shapeshifting mutant Mystique and helping her drive a wedge between Gambit and Rogue who he had feelings for.

Pulse has the mutant ability to beam out disruptive pulses from his eyes. This can be used to disable any form of system and it's effective on humans and mutants alike.

In "The Gifted," Pulse showed that he could disable both weapon systems and mutants around him. The terrified faces of the mutants realizing that they were literally powerless while Pulse was in range showed how much they've relied on their genetic abilities far more than they've realized.

The show has also been showing the backstories of some of its characters, providing glimpses of how each of them met and how they started out in the Mutant Underground. These backstories have provided the show with a lot of emotion and relatability especially with current social issues going around.

"The Gifted" airs every Monday, 9 p.m. EDT on FOX.
