"The Good Wife" lead star Julianna Margulies and creators Robert and Michelle King look back at the seven years of the beloved drama before it formally bids adieu to the small screen later this week.

During an interview with Global News, Margulies admitted that filming the final episode of "The Good Wife" was "bittersweet" as it meant she won't be with the "wonderful" cast and crew of the show she worked with for seven years.

"It was one of those things where you want to leave people wanting more. And at the same time there's — to me — so much more to find out about Alicia," the actress said of "The Good Wife" finale.

Margulies is also blown away by the popularity and the iconic status her character Alicia Florrick earned through the course of "The Good Wife." The star revealed that she received heaps of gifts and letters from fans from around the world.

"And the ones that struck me the most were these women who told me they started watching in college, and now had their law degrees, and were practicing law because of Alicia," Margulies said.

"And that for me, it brought me to tears, because I had no idea the reach was so strong, and deep and wide," the actress continued, adding that she initially, only hoped "The Good Wife" will stay on air and nothing more.

Meanwhile, series co-creator Robert spoke to Daily Beast about the development of Alicia Florrick over the seven seasons of "The Good Wife" and the "element of growth" in the beloved character.

"I thought what Julianna does very delicately is these small shifts in personality that add up to a very large shift. I think if you put the last episode and the first episode together and look at the changes in this woman, you would be surprised," he explained.

In the episode prior to "The Good Wife" finale, Alicia shocked Canning for her lack of emotion after learning that her estranged husband Peter cheated on her with Geneva Pine.

Michelle said that Alicia from the first season of "The Good Wife" and Alicia from the last season will react very differently about Peter's infidelity.

Margulies believes that Alicia has every right to be happy and that she most certainly can be. Jason helps her become carefree and to loosen up while her friendship with Lucca has helped her understand and feel the support of a loyal friend.

Margulies will take her final bow in "The Good Wife" finale on May 8 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
