Alicia Florrick's (Julianna Margulies) mom returns and takes her to the kitchen in the next episode of "The Good Wife" season 7.
In the episode titled "Cooked," Alicia's mom Veronica (Stockard Channing) will visit her to join in a mother-daughter cooking show to help with Peter Florrick's (Chris Noth) presidential bid based on Eli Gold's (Alan Cumming) recommendation. Could cooking show do more harm than good?
But the episode will not solely focus on cooking, since Alicia and her staff Lucca (Cush Jumbo) will work hard to deal with a complicated court case that will involve a designer drug dealer.
The official synopsis for the episode reads:
"Alicia and Lucca work together on a complicated court case involving a designer drug dealer. Also, Eli encourages Alicia and Veronica to participate in a mother/daughter cooking show to help Peter's campaign, with disastrous results."
Meanwhile, "The Good Wife" series creators refuted the claims that they intentionally called out former cast member Archie Panjabi in a recent episode after Vanity Fair posted a report about it.
According to Robert and Michelle King, the scene where Alicia asked the applicant who was applying for her new private investigator if she knew her former staff Kalinda Sharma, portrayed by Panjabi. She told the applicant that she reminded her of Sharma, which the applicant hoped to be a good thing. However, it turned out to be the opposite, and the woman was not hired for the job.
It was long reported that Margulies and Sharma were feuding behind the set, but it was constantly denied by the staff of the show. However, Kalinda claimed that there was really an on-set tension between them.
But the series creators claim that the episode was not about Sharma.
"No, the scene is only to dramatize Alicia's attempt to return to her comfort zone and move away from someone with which she truly has chemistry (the Jason Crouse character). The next time we want to be meta, we'll add a man-bun," the Kings stated.
"The Good Wife" season 7 episode 3 airs on Sunday, Oct. 18, on CBS.
