The winter finale of "The Good Wife" shocked viewers as Eli (Alan Cumming) made a confession to Alicia (Julianna Margulies).

While the episode ended with Alicia keeping her emotions reined in, she will be doing the opposite as she goes on a fit of rage during the show's return next month.

In the promo for episode 11 titled "Iowa," Eli tells her that he's sorry, but Alicia tersely says that he needs to keep quiet.

"I'm afraid if I don't explain," says Eli, but he is cut off as Alicia abruptly stands up and knocks her chair to the floor. In her anger, she shoves the table at him, which makes Eli turn away in fear.

Later, it looks like Alicia has controlled her anger once again as she is seen calmly putting down a stack of plates on the table. But it looks like she's not entirely finished with Eli as she starts flinging plates at him. The clip ends with Alicia breaking the rest of the plates and slamming the door.

In the midseason finale, Eli admitted that he erased her voicemail from Will Gardner (Josh Charles), which happened in season one. In the voicemail, Will told Alicia that he loves her and that he wants to be with her. Eli erased the voicemail because Alicia was about to join Peter (Chris Noth) at the podium to announce his candidacy, and Eli thought that Will would get in the way of the campaign.

Since Will died, it appears as though Alicia would never find happiness again, until she met investigator Jason (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Eli chose to confess because he felt guilty and because he cost Alicia her happiness once again by making sure that Jason would go far away from her by pulling strings to get him a new job.

It looks like things will definitely change between Eli and Alicia when the show returns next year. According to E! Online, Alicia will be forced to be around Eli as they hit the campaign trail with Peter in Iowa. Once in Iowa, Peter will do something risky to gain votes for his presidential bid.

"The Good Wife" returns on Jan. 10, 9pm on CBS.
