Much like the smitten Alicia, "The Good Wife" season 7 is not ready to say goodbye to Jason Crouse just yet. In the winter finale of the series, Eli and Ruth worked on getting the private investigator as far away from Alicia as possible in the name of Peter's candidacy.

Thankfully for those who wanted to see Alicia and Jason end up together, the pair's love story is yet to reach its ending. While Jason seems to have said his farewell (and a very emotional one at that), viewers will still catch Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character in action in the future.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, producers Robert and Michelle King revealed that Jason will be in almost every episode of the season. However, Eli's revelation about the erased message involving Will Gardner will definitely complicate his stay in "The Good Wife" season 7.

In the latest aired episode of the series, Eli confessed (during a moment of vulnerability caused by Vanessa's going away) that Will sent a message to Alicia six years ago professing his feelings for her and his plans for them to be together.

This was the first time viewers knew about the message's content, which was a mystery back in the first season of "The Good Wife." Eli erased the message because he deemed it would pose a problem to Peter's state attorney campaign at that time.

Not only does this confession affect Alicia and Jason's relationship going forward, it also poses a threat to Alicia and Eli's connection. According to the show's producers, the latter felt guilty about snatching from Alicia another opportunity for her to be truly happy.

"He realizes he's doing the same thing now that he did back at the end of the first season. He cares for Alicia now, and wants her to be happy. He confesses in order to relieve his guilt, but also to push Alicia to not give up her chance at happiness," the Kings explained.

Viewers will get to witness the fallout of the revelation when "The Good Wife" season 7 returns with an episode called "Iowa" on Jan. 10.
