The online streaming service Hulu has just released a trailer for season 2 of the highly anticipated series "The Handmaid's Tale," which gives fans and viewers a glimpse of what they can expect from the award-winning show in the upcoming season. Although not much dialogue or narrative for season 2 was revealed, the trailer's imagery is compelling enough to generate a lot of hype to keep the fans interested -- especially after the season 1 cliffhanger.

In the official season 2 trailer, only glimpses of the setting are shown, as well as very brief moments of the important cast members. However, the general atmosphere of the trailer is grim, with very little hope seen from the difficult life of the people in the Republic of Gilead. By the end of the trailer, the show's protagonist, June Osborne, played by Elizabeth Moss, is shown burning her handmaid's uniform while she is in tears.

Season 1 ended with viewers asking more questions than the show answered over the course of the season's 23 episodes. Not much has changed in the totalitarian society of Gilead. It is safe to assume that season 2 will have more twists and turns in its narrative, and notable, June is most assuredly going to be fine in the foreseeable future due to her being pregnant at the end of season 1.

But in one of the teaser images that has been released in season 2, June is shown to have blood all over her neck, to her torso -- which indicates that she may have either inflicted a lot of pain on to somebody, or somebody was killed beside her. However, not the same can be said for the other handmaids, since a brief clip of them is shown marching in the cold snow in their signature red uniforms.

"The Handmaid's Tale" season 2 will return on April 25 on Hulu.
