"The Hobbit: There and Back Again" picks up right where it left off in "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug"— Thorin leads an army to the Lonely Mountain, Bard the Bowman and Gandalf is imprisoned, Legolas fights Orcs, the necromancer will make appearance and Smaug is on his way to unleash destruction in Lake Town.

Spoilers have already leaked for the third "The Hobbit" installation (given that many have already read the book). And here are some of what you'll be expecting in the movie:

Bard the Bowman and Smaug

The opening scene stars Smaug as he terrorizes Lake Town. Bard the Bowman will be freed from prison, but his savior is still unnamed. Bard the Bowman will defeat Smaug, as he was destined to but in which way is still unknown.

Thorin Oakenshield

Thorin Oakenshield will lead an army up the Lonely Mountain and will die sacrificing himself for the greater good. But in the film, he might end up alive. Thorin will also present Bilbo with a Mithril armor.

Legolas, the Orcs and Azog

Legolas will chase Bolg, catch up to him and fight the Orcs. And upon discovery of Azog and his army, Legolas will be the one to unite men, dwarves and elves to fight a common enemy. The Legolas-Tauriel-Killi love triangle will continue. Although Legolas' father, King Thranduil, wasn't really a likeable character in the previous movie, he will redeem himself here. He will lead an army to fight Azog.

The Battle of Five Armies

The Battle of Five Armies will be epic. Richard Armittage (Thorin) told On the Red Carpet that "I think it will probably be quite a cinematic event." Also during the battle, Beor and the Eagles might help save the day when the good guys are at a disadvantage in the Battle of Five Armies.

Other Spoilers

The necromancer will battle the White Council and Sauron will be defeated. In addition Frodo, played by Elijah Wood, might appear at the end of the movie since he was the one who opened the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

"The Hobbit: There and Back Again" will run shorter compared to the first two films. It will be more fast-paced as well. The movie is set for release on Dec. 17, 2014.
