'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' movie rumors: Last film's setting will be after Prim's death

It was initially speculated that the first part of the movie "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" will close with Finnick and Annie's wedding in District 13, saying that it's a perfect way to divide the film. However, some think otherwise. Latest rumors claim that the first film will instead end when Prim dies.

The death of Katniss Everdeen's beloved sister serves as a perfect cliffhanger for the first part of the movie adaptation of "Mockingjay."  In the final book of "The Hunger Games" trilogy, Prim serves as a nurse assisting the people in District 13. While Prim is giving medical help to her comrades as well as to the victims of the war in the Capitol, District 13 launches an attack.

At that point in the story, Katniss has almost reached President Snow's mansion.  She sees a hoverplane overhead, dropping bombs on parachutes. Then she sees Prim below along with the children she is helping, right where the parachutes are meant to land. The bomb kills Katniss' precious little sister who she saved from the deadly Hunger Games by volunteering herself. Prim's death will incur a great impact on Katniss' physical and psychological state.

If that's where the first film ends, then the second one will open with Katniss grieving for Prim and blaming Gale for her sister's death, thinking that there is a conspiracy behind it.

Meanwhile, it is certain that the first film will focus on the love triangle between Gale, Katniss and Peeta. The upcoming movie will also center on saving Peeta after he is captured by the Capitol.

Film director Francis Lawrence confirmed that the film's protagonist Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) will be distraught and disoriented. He also said that the love triangle between Peeta, Katniss and Gale will still be at play. However, it will be harder this time because of Peeta's situation.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1" will be released on Nov. 21, 2014 and the second part will hit theaters a year after on Nov. 20, 2015.
