Fans can witness how the ultimate attempts of the ever feisty Katniss Everdeen to overthrow the Capitol will all pan out in fancy 3D. Needless to say, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" is scheduled to come out in IMAX and IMAX 3D moviehouses on Nov. 20 this year. 

Previous "The Hunger Games" movies were shown via IMAX but this will be the first time that the book-adapted film will be reworked into IMAX 3D format. Lionsgate is excited about the feat and it guarantees that fans of one of the most followed franchises today will be happy about it, too — in this respect as well as story-wise. 

In a press release, IMAX executive Greg Foster said: "It's exciting to be back in 'The Hunger Games' world and once again team up with our partners at Lionsgate, director Francis Lawrence and producers Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik on what we believe will be a thrilling, action-packed finale to this blockbuster franchise. The fan enthusiasm and cultural impact that this series has generated has been truly remarkable and we are thrilled to offer audiences the opportunity to experience the last chapter in IMAX 3D."

Lionsgate does not plan to have moviegoers watch the action in 3D only as it will also release the film in 2D cinemas so everyone can see how the girl on fire will use her impeccable archery skills to clean up the mess caused by some really annoying ill-famed tyrants. 

Delving into the plotline, reports suggest that "Mockingjay Part 2" will be big on the romance of famous District 12 lovers, Peeta and Katniss. The folks at the studio believe that there is more to their love story than what's there on paper. That means that a bit of tweaking may transpire. 

While on the subject of tweaking, there are also rumors that more of it will be done on the forthcoming film, even its ending. Since a "new" Katniss will be seen in "Mockingjay Part 2" and the baker's son went missing in the last minutes of the previous movie, word on the street is that everything will culminate to a different and rather dark ending. In addition, the untimely passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who played Plutarch Heavensbee in "Mockingjay Part 1," will also entail some inevitable changes. 

Lastly, rumor has it that more quests are being set up for the pair of 74th Hunger Games victors, and Lionsgate plans to bring them all to the silver screen. According to Den of Geek, CEO Jon Feltheimer is considering prequel and sequel possibilities.
