'The Hunger Games' star Jena Malone to play Robin in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'?

Warner Bros.

Jena Malone, known for her role as Johanna Mason in "The Hunger Games" movie franchise, is currently being attached to the character of Carrie Kelley a.k.a. Robin in the upcoming film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

An informant allegedly leaked some information to WILX10's Kirk Montgomery, saying that a female Robin is in the script. Speculators have pieced this bit of information with other details, including Malone's new red hair, her having been seen on the set, plus news that the 29-year old actress has a "mystery role" in the film. This leads to a strong argument that she could be Batman's new sidekick.

The source is said to be an extra in the "Man of Steel" sequel who, if found out, would face a hefty $5 million fine for having broken a non-disclosure agreement with the production company.

Everyone already knows that Ben Affleck will don the black hood and cape, which, a few months back, sparked a lot of conflicting reactions from moviegoers and superhero fans. Now, many moviegoers are in for another surprise if and when they see Carrie Kelley rather than the usual character of Dick Grayson fighting alongside Batman. Kelley happens to be Batman's ally in the 1980s comic series, The Dark Knight Returns, a student who the Caped Crusader saves and who later returns the favor.

Whether or not Malone would be in the film and if she would play Robin still remains to be seen. What Warner Bros. has officially confirmed, as reported by Variety, is that moviegoers can expect to see the heroes and villains in the DC universe on the silver screen spread over the next six years. Other than "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the production outfit will also release "Wonder Woman" featuring Gal Gadot, "Aquaman" to star Jason Momoa, "Shazam" starring Dwayne Johnson, and "The Flash" to feature Ezra Miller. There will also be "Suicide Squad," a reboot of "Green Lantern," plus two "Justice League" movies.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jeremy Irons. It will roll out in theaters on March 25, 2016.
