Ever since rumors first came out about "The Incredibles" sequel, fans have been pitching theories about which villain the Parrs will be facing in the next installment.

One of the top rumors that made the rounds was that it was the youngest son Jack-Jack who will be the villain, especially after he showed his tremendous power at the closing of the first movie. It was originally said that Jack Jack, who will already be in his teens in the next installment will be undergoing a stage of rebellion, reported Game N' Guide.

However, "The Incredibles 2" director Brad Bird did not confirm the rumors during a recent interview with Collider.

It may be of note to anxious fans that they are moving along with the development of the story. Bird confirmed that they are already in the process of boarding some parts. He also said that in developing the story, they took into consideration what the current movie scene is.

"But what's changed is there were only two other superhero franchises at the time Incredibles came out. One of them was X-Men and the other was Spider-Man, and now there are 400 billion of them and there's a new superhero movie every two weeks. What you don't want to do is trot over the same turf in the same way everyone else is. So we're trying to keep it focused in the area that our film was, which was a little bit more about characters and relationships and stuff like that, and see where that takes us. But we're having a good time," he said.

In an earlier interview, he said that the main challenge of mounting a sequel is "repeating yourself, without repeating yourself," which he explained means that they want to retain the same character feel as the original movie but making sure to serve up something fresh to the viewers.

"The Incredibles 2" is set to return to the big screen by June 21, 2019.
