"The Incredibles 2" will launch in 2019, and yet, very little is still known about the film. One of the most popular rumors is that it will take place years after the original, which was released back in 2004, and may see a rebellious teenage Jack-Jack fighting his own family.

Vine Report points out that in the end of the first movie, it was revealed that Jack-Jack, previously thought to have no super powers, had multiple abilities such as transforming into other creatures, with each form having their own set of capabilities. This is stated to make Jack-Jack the most powerful member of the Parr family.

It is further stated that Jack-Jack's overwhelming power may cause some conflict, particularly with the way his parents may want to keep him in line and monitored. This may force him to decide on whether he would follow suit as a hero and do good or become a villain.

While this plot rumor has not been proven true, it would coincide with a statement made by director Brad Bird in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. During the interview, Bird confirmed that production is moving ahead and that he wanted to ensure the film felt fresh and new by taking the story in new directions.

"It's very actively moving, and we're excited about it," he explained. "We're trying to take it in some new directions," the director went on to say.

When asked if any of the rumors about the story are true or if he could share some information about the plot or characters, he refused to give any spoilers and merely stated, "I don't like unwrapping presents before Christmas."

Other rumors include a possible return of Syndrome as the primary villain. Another rumor going around involves Jack-Jack forming some kind of rivalry against his older brother Dash.

"The Incredibles 2" is scheduled to premiere on June 21, 2019.
