"The Last of Us 2" is expected to be released as soon as Naughty Dog is done working on "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."

The development for the rumored second sequel for the highly successful action-adventure horror survival game is reportedly put on hold so that the game developer can focus on their other highly anticipated game.

Earlier this year, Game Spot managed to get a word with Naughty Boy's Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley, who both mentioned that the game's sequel will have to wait until they have perfected the upcoming installment from the Uncharted franchise.

"We're 110 percent in Uncharted 4 territory now," Straley said. "Blinders on, make this awesome."

"We totally get it, because we have those same feelings as well. We have brainstormed sequel ideas for The Last of Us, and we've brainstormed ideas for new games, but all of that is put on ice right now while we work on Uncharted 4," the Naughty Dog reps claim.

Meanwhile, a Swiss retailer seemed to leak the possible release date of the alleged Uncharted remastered trilogy that was rumored to be released prior to the "Uncharted 4."

According to the listing of the Swiss retailer CeDe that was spotted by TechnoBiffalo, the PlayStation 4 edition of the alleged "Uncharted Trilogy HD Edition" will come out on September 30. However, Naughty Dog has yet to comment about the report's validity.

Yet The Sixth Axis pointed out that Naughty Dog is too busy working on the new installment of the Uncharted series to have enough time to remaster its first three installments. Still, it could not be impossible since the success of the remastered "The Last of Us" could be an inspiration for the team to come up with a new packaging for the old one.

Still, the "Uncharted 4" is expected to have a 2015 release date.
