It seems that the cast and crew of "The Last of Us 2" worked during Easter weekend. Their getting together led to Twitter posts, some of which might have provided sneak peeks for the game.

The first one to post was Ashley Johnson, the voice actress of Ellie. She posted a photo of her and Troy Barker, who is the voice behind Joel. The two characters played the leads in the first game title. Naughty Dog previously announced that "The Last of Us 2" will revolve around Ellie.

The photo of them together has further fanned the flames about the fate of the two. Rumors are going around that Joel died in between the two games. Some pointed out that he had a ghostly appearance in the game trailer. The photo is now being used by other fans as proof that Joel may, in fact, be alive.

Director Neil Druckmann also had his own Twitter post. He shared a video of "Westworld" actor Shannon Woodward, who just joined the cast of "The Last of Us 2," tossing around a plastic machete. It is still unclear what role she will be playing in the game. However, some fans are hoping that her character will be a new girlfriend of Ellie. Woodward herself announced her involvement in the game via Twitter.

Druckmann also shared a photo of Halley Gross, one of the writers of "The Last of Us 2" and also incidentally for "Westworld." The writer is shown seemingly mounted on what seems to be a prop horse while wielding a fake shotgun. Fans have taken this photo to mean that horseback riding and fighting, which was featured in "The Last of Us," will be making a return in the sequel.

Naughty Dog has not made an official announcement regarding the release of "The Last of Us 2." However, some rumors are going around that it will be out in the market by December 2018. The game will be exclusively released for the PlayStation 4.
