"The Last of Us 2" is still yet to be confirmed, despite the fact that the game has proved to be undeniably popular even today three years after its first game's release. Unfortunately, it seems that new reports point out to the game taking a step back in order to give other games a chance.

Ecumenical News reports that the reason for this game's delay is due to the fact that Naughty Dog still has a lot of work to do with "Uncharted 4." Of course, it goes without saying that this game company has not given up on the idea of "The Last of Us 2," but regardless they are still pretty quiet about its development. This is despite the fact that Neil Druckmann, the first game's creative director, hinted that the sequel has been put into consideration especially that the game became an instant hit.

Druckmann has also told fans that he and Bruce Stanley are already brainstorming about the possibilities for the sequel. As such, it is not a matter of whether or not "The Last of Us 2" will be made, but when it will be developed and finally released. However, it will take a long time before the new sequel is released, since Naughty Dog is still pretty much focused on its other hit game "Uncharted 4." Druckmann said that once the single-player expansion for this game is done, the development of "The Last of Us 2" will start.

With that being said, Movie News Guide says that "The Last of Us 2" will might introduce a new main character called Ish, who will be accompanied by Ellie and Joel. As fans can remember, Ish and his group took shelter at the Pittsburgh sewer's mouth. They never met Ellie and Joel in person, despite the fact that they already created their own community.

Without any confirmation, fans should just wait for new updates for "The Last of Us 2."
