The Last of Us Remastered PS4 release date may be August 7, not June 13

The critically acclaimed The Last of Us: Remastered is coming soon to PS4 and for fans of the game it can't come soon enough.

But when exactly?  It had been pegged to June 13, but it looks as though the release date of this hugely popular game has been pushed back to August.

Fansided.com says the release date may actually be August 7.  That's after New Zealand retailer Mighty Ape provided new information from their supplier about the game.

"Just letting you know that our suppliers have advised us today that the estimated New Zealand release date for The Last of Us Remastered - PS4 has changed from 13/06/2014 to 07/08/2014 today," the info stated.

FanSided also reports that NeoGAF forum user, ShdwDrake, recently put the release date at August 8, apparently based on insider information.

Sony hasn't given any official release date yet. Back in March, PlayStation's Eurasian Software Market Manager Sercan Sulun said it would be out in the summer and available through the PlayStation Network as well as on disc.

There has been no response from Sony so far on the latest rumored release date of August 7.

The game is available to pre-order for around £49.95 in the UK.
