Justin Theroux's Kevin and the camp are heading down under in "The Leftovers" season 3. The direction of the show's plot calls for the production and the continuation of Kevin's story to be moved to Australia.

"The Leftovers" season 3 will wrap up the events in Texas and move to a new continent. By the end of the second season, the land of Jarden, which has been their safe haven for a while, was completely burned to the ground.

Kevin's determination to keep his loved ones safe will take him to Australia. As to why the land down under makes sense as the character's next destination, there were already hints of him going there in the past "The Leftovers" seasons.

With the miracle town in Texas obliterated by the Guilty Remnant, Kevin's family will attempt to find another place they will be safe. It looks like Kevin's father will vouch for Australia.

In "The Leftovers" season 2, viewers will recall that the senior Garvey was there as part of his journey to find some answers. It was from there that he managed to communicate with his son when he died.

Kevin Sr. being able to do this hinted that his search for the truth and understanding may have been fruitful. That being said, "The Leftovers" season 3 could see the two reunite.

It is the best time to meet him too, since Kevin has successfully triumphed over his inner demons. In "The Leftovers" season 3, Kevin's sanity reunites with him too.

Speaking of which, the mystery of his recovery and resurrection also leads to Australia. Fans will remember early in the previous season that the man residing at the tower in Miracle had a package sent to a man named David Burton.

The recipient was revealed to have something to do with the death and resurrection of a man there. Australia may be the hub of answers to the mysteries in Kevin's life.

As for "The Leftovers" season 3 as a whole, showrunner Damon Lindelof said in an interview with Gold Derby that fans will see an apocalypse that they "haven't quite seen before."

"We started thinking a lot about apocalyptic thinking, and how people are going to behave if they think the world is going to end," Lindelof said.

"The Leftovers" season 3 has no premiere date yet.
