While Nintendo has already confirmed that the upcoming "The Legend of Zelda" game for the Wii U will come out next year, a specific release date has yet to be revealed. More details on the game and future plans for Nintendo are expected to be the company's focus in its E3 2016 presentation.

Nintendo has already confirmed its appearance at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, said to be one of the biggest trade shows in the gaming industry. According to the studio, its E3 2016 presentation will focus solely on the new "The Legend of Zelda" game. While the company has yet to reveal details of its highlights, fans expect that there may be a hands-on demo of the title, given that it is said to roll out during the early months of 2017.

It is also confirmed that the new "The Legend of Zelda" game will be coming out as a dual-system release, as the title will also be launched on the upcoming Nintendo NX system. However, it is unclear whether Nintendo will be showcasing the NX version at the event.

This year's E3 will be held on June 14 to 16 in Los Angeles, California.

Meanwhile, to celebrate the upcoming new game, Nintendo has confirmed that the franchise will be getting its own line of trading cards, supposedly coming out next month. The new trading cards will get their highlights from the previous five "Zelda" games – "A Link Between Worlds," "Majora's Mask," "Ocarina of Time," "Skyward Sword," and "Twilight Princess." The base deck is composed of 85 cards in all, comprising regular trading cards and special editions like foil cards, stickers, and tattoos.

The trading cards are rumored to be released on June 30.
