Game creator Eiji Aonuma came out to pacify Wii U users who are starting to get worried about the future of "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U after rumors about its alleged scrapping in favor of the upcoming Nintendo NX platform.

"We're doing our best. Everyday we improve it bit by bit. It is something that requires plenty of time, however, so please believe in us and wait," Aonuma said.

The Wii U version of the upcoming action-adventure game was originally planned to be released this year, but Aonuma announced back in March that they would no longer push through with the plan. Instead, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime mentioned during the E3 2015 that the 19^th installment of "The Legend of Zelda" game will be released sometime in 2016.

The upcoming year will also mark the 30^th anniversary of the long-running "The Legend of Zelda" action-adventure game franchise, and it seems like Nintendo has a lot of plans to celebrate the new milestone of the game in 2016.

In an interview with Famitsu that was translated by Nintendo Everything, Aonuma talked about their plans to celebrate the anniversary.

"This year we wanted a Majora's Mask concert, so it is not impossible that there may be a 30th anniversary concert next year. However, as we are trying to complete the new Zelda as fast as possible, that is all that is on our minds," the game producer shared. "That being said, we hope something will take form for the 30th anniversary. It is especially important to a producer of the series, so I hope to give something everyone can look forward to next year."

Early this year, "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U was ranked second on the list of the most anticipated games for 2015 according to Gametrailers website before the announcement of the delay. It was only beaten by CD Projekt RED's "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" that came out in May.
