'The Lego Movie 2' sequel spoilers: Lego universe welcomes the Time Lord

The Time Lord will use the Tardis to bring him to the Lego Universe once talks between the BBC America and Warner Bros. Pictures on a possible collaboration is settled.

The sequel to the phenomenally successful 2014 animated movie "The Lego Movie" is set to hit the cinemas in 2018 and fans are eagerly looking forward to some spoilers. One rumor circulating in the Internet is that it will include the famous "Doctor Who" character. According to a report from Zap2it, "The Lego Movie 2" may feature a cameo from the Time Lord himself once the two companies have settled the matter.

During his appearance on the Harmontown podcast, director Rob Schrab reportedly confirmed the rumor, but he declined to further comment on the storyline line they have planned for the Doctor. With the recent addition of "Doctor Who" in the "Lego Dimensions" video game and Lego set, it is certainly probable that BBC will also allow it to be included in the upcoming film. For now, fans will have to wait for further announcements with regard to this collaboration.

Meanwhile, Phil Lord and Chris Miller shared some details of the film in an interview with Empire Magazine. The writer/director duo said that the sequel would be see a continuation of the live-action element present in the 2014 original. The movie would also show how a kid's perspective of toys change after hitting the pre-teen years.

"Well, I don't want to give you spoilers, but we were really interested in what happens to that boy who's in the meta story in the first movie when he's four years older. When he's an adolescent how does that change his point of view?" Miller said.

"The Lego Movie 2" will be preceded by "Lego Ninjago" and "Lego Batman" which will be shown on cinemas in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
