During the Television Crtics Association press tour, Amazon announced that "The Man in the High Castle" season 2 will be premiering later this December. Amazon later posted the announcement via Facebook, along with a brand-new poster for the show.

As stated in a report from IGN, the studio also announced several other shows that will be premiering before the end of the year such as "Red Oaks" season 2 and "Mozart in the Jungle." The former will premiere on Nov. 11 while the latter will premiere on Dec. 9.

"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 is being developed quite differently from season 1 given that showrunner Frank Spotnitz had departed from the project. According to TVLine, he left the project following a difference in opinion with Amazon regarding his role in the production of the show.

Executive producer David Zucker was later asked during the TCA press tour regarding the vacant showrunner position and how season 2 was being managed to which he stated there isn't just one person overseeing things now.

"There are senior powers in every aspect of the realization of this show. At this point we have a system that's working as good as we can make it, to make the best show possible." He did acknowledge the difficulties of this approach, stating "No one would choose to build a show this way."

Zucker continued to explain that one of the main difficulties was the scattered production of the show. Writing was being completed in London, filming for the show was conducted in Vancouver and post-production was handled in Los Angeles.

In regards to what happens in season 2, executive producer Isa Dick Hackett explained that the two alternate realities co-exist and this can be seen in the trailer shown during the TCA press tour. During the trailer, Togami (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) is seen back in the alternate world. Hackett also confirmed that audiences would finally get to meet the titular man in the high castle.

"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 premieres Dec. 16.
