The tension is running high as "The Mentalist" gets closer to its final episode. 

Last episode showed that Patrick Jane is starting to think twice about his career in the police force. He doesn't want to deal with deaths anymore after what happened to Vega and, therefore, he wants out. He asks Theresa Lisbon to join him, but she won't give her the assurance. That episode ended with a cliffhanger. So, will Jane leave the FBI? 

Seeing that he is still in the promo for episode 11 means he's not going anywhere yet. Episode 11 is titled "Byzantium" and there's good reason why Jane decides to say a bit longer. 

Being the mentalist that he is, he meets a young psychic who looks like the real deal. Naturally, Jane wants to get to know the young man further. However, as he and the FBI know more about the young man, they start to doubt him. 

The official synopsis reads:

"A young man claiming to have psychic powers offers his help to the FBI in solving a pair of murders, but when he leads them to additional victims, Jane and the team begin to suspect that he is in fact the killer they're hunting." 

The FBI definitely needs Jane's help on this one. As CarterMatt pointed out, Jane makes "his living off being a fake psychic." So if there's anyone who can crack the suspect's true character and intentions, there's no one else to do it better than Jane. 

There are only three episodes left in season 7 and, sad to say, the entire series, too. It's highly likely that this case is linked to the last two episodes of the show. According to the past spoilers, Jane and Lisbon will deal with a formidable foe in the finale. 

As the show draws closer to its goodbye, fans of the series shouldn't miss the next episode of "The Mentalist" on Feb. 11 on CBS.
