'The Originals' season 4 spoilers: Keahu Kahuanui officially joins cast

The CW

The cast of "The Originals" season 4 continues to grow as "Teen Wolf" alumni Keahu Kahuanui officially joins the show, once again pitting him in a series where he'll be surrounded by vampires, werewolves and other supernatural beings. According to TVLine, he will be the new love interest for Josh (Steven Kreuger).

The report continues to state that Kahuanui's character is named Eddie and in a surprising twist is not a vampire or someone with some form of supernatural ability. Instead, Eddie is a regular human being who doesn't even want to have powers of any kind.

Eddie is also described as someone who is both very smart and very funny, and a report from Cartermatt points out that he could become the comic relief for the show, which is known for delving into very dark and depressing tones at times. He also has his own set of priorities and is knowledgeable in random stuff.

It is further revealed that Kahuanui is quite aware of the supernatural world around him but has no desire to be anything more than a human with encyclopedic knowledge of random things, making him a unique character in a show where most of the main characters strive for more powerful and supernatural abilities.

Kahuanui will be joining other newcomers to the show such as Christina Moses who will be playing a "fierce werewolf" going by the name Keelin and Neil Jackson who is set to play Alistair, a mysterious vampire whose origins and allegiance has yet to be revealed.

The report also points out that the series is not going to be premiering this coming Fall. The CW Network has yet to officially announce when season 4 will premiere but it is currently speculated to release during the midseason. While it is possible it will release earlier Cartermatt points out that this is very unlikely.
