"The Originals" season 4 will start off after a time jump, showing Hope (Summer Fontana), Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley Marshall's (Phoebe Tonkin) daughter to be a little grown up in the series. Since Hayley and Hope left on a mission to rescue the Mikaelsons, the story begins after five years, and Hope being grown up is not the only surprise there is to reveal.

Hope will already be seven years old and will prove to be a powerful character in the series. Carrying traits from her father Klaus, Hope possibly has a dark side that she has yet to reveal. Not only that, she may also become a witch as well.

As reported by ShowbizJunkies Tonkin said during the TV series' panel at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con last July, "I think now that she is seven, she is her own character. ... She's got her own interests and her own maybe, ... dark side to her. I think she's a very powerful witch. She may be a bit of an ally to Freya (Riley Voelkel)."

There will be triumph as it is expected that Klaus will be able to escape the brick prison built by Marcel Gerard, played by Charles Michael Davis. It will only be a matter of time before Klaus and Hayley are back to protecting their daughter. According to Parent Herald, season 4 will feature a "mysterious force" that will wreak havoc to the lives of the children in New Orleans, which Klaus and Hayley will be determined to banish to keep Hope safe.

Viewers can also expect a new face in the series whose story is connected to Klaus. During an interview at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con, Morgan revealed that "The Originals" season 4 is adding "Sleepy Hollow" actor Neil Jackson as a vampire named Alistair. He will play a villain against Klaus, who is determined to hunt Klaus enraged by his grudge towards the original hybrid.

"The Originals" season 4 will premiere on The CW in mid-2017.
