There are only a few months remaining before the premiere of the fifth and final season of "The Originals." CW's supernatural drama series will introduce a new threat to the Mikaelsons, a family of Original vampires. Although, the first focus will be on how to bring the siblings back together, following the events of the previous chapter. In season 5, the key in the reunion of the Mikaelsons is none other than the family's youngest member, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell).

"The Originals" season 5 executive producer Julie Plec confirmed that Hope will play an important role in the last chapter of the series, particularly in bringing the Mikaelson siblings back together. To recall, the season 4 finale gave the family a huge predicament as Hope was possessed by a powerful entity known as the Hollow. In order to defeat the enemy, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Elijah (Daniel Guilles) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) allowed their bodies to become the Hollow's new host, but they need not to see each other ever again to keep the entity sealed.

In an interview with TVLine, Plec revealed that Hope will not stop in finding a solution to allow her father and his siblings to see each other again. The teenage daughter of Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will be busy honing her powers in school, but she always remembers the Mikaelson's pact to keep the family together "always and forever."

"Hope goes to great lengths, and not necessarily always on the up, to find ways to be reunited with the people that she loves ... When you're a 15-year-old at a boarding school, that involves breaking some rules and possibly relying on some cute, charming, young male assistance to help you escape where you are so you can get home," the showrunner said.

In other news, "The Originals" season 5 may not have a special Hayley and Elijah reunion like some of their fans are hoping for. Plec revealed that Elijah will have a lot of time this upcoming season to rediscover himself, and this may also be the time for him to meet a new love of his life.

"Being able to write a narrative for Elijah that allowed him to live an entirely different life and imagining what that life would look like was a lot of fun," Plec said.
