Kickass Torrents continues to fight against ISP blockades that prevent users from certain countries from accessing the site by adding a new dark web address, effectively hiding the torrent site within the TOR (The Onion Router) network.

According to a report from Torrent Freak, Kickass Torrent is the most visited torrent site today and for this reason copyright holders from all across the world have targeted it for piracy. This has led to ISP blockades in several countries, including the U.K., Finland and Australia.

The report notes that Kickass Torrents combats this by using multiple proxy sites and is now upping the ante by moving to the dark web. By adding a new address on the TOR network ISPs can no longer easily block the site from being accessed even in areas where it is restricted. This is due to the encrypted anonymity of the TOR network.

"Good news for those who have difficulties accessing KAT due to the site block in their country, now you can always access KAT via this address lsuzvpko6w6hzpnn.onion on a TOR network," explained Kickass Torrent's Mr. White, the anonymous manager of the popular site.

It is noted that only people with access to the TOR network can access these addresses. This can be achieved by using the TOR browser or other proxy methods of getting into the network. TOR users can also browse regular websites as if they were using any other regular browser.

Mr. White further explained that this was done due to popular request given that a .onion address allows users to work around even the most restrictive blockades that prevent them from downloading torrents.

The report also notes that Kickass Torrents is not the first site to add a dark web address as The Pirate Bay and other torrenting networks have used a .onion address for some time now.
