The Pirate Bay back up online after third downtime since Feb. 1 relaunch

Although The Pirate Bay managed to find its way back to the Web once more, the torrent tank has been hanging in the balance from the time it returned. The site was downed twice since its Feb. 1 comeback due to hosting issues. Apparently, these bugs just won't die causing yet another downtime.

According to Torrent Freak, The Pirate Bay is finding it hard to keep its footing. It has yet to settle on a good hosting location. Just recently, users who accessed the page ended up getting the "403 Forbidden" message. The problem evolved into one where users were redirected to themobilebay.org, a domain name ran by the same site administrators. Throughout all this though, the search function remained usable.

The group behind the site worked to fix the issue and initially managed to stop the redirecting problem. Torrent Freak has also confirmed that the file sharing site was up and running again after more than 24 hours of greeting users with error messages. However, it would not be surprising if another outage springs up.

One of the torrent site's admin who goes by the name of Winston told Torrent Freak that "getting stable hosting" has become the biggest challenge they have had to deal with ever since The Pirate Bay rose from the ashes. The hosting location of The Pirate Bay is veiled, thanks to CloudFare's CDN. However, the service also forwards takedown notices to hosting providers. It was because of this that The Pirate Bay was knocked offline last week, too.

In Dec. 9 last year, Swedish authorities took down The Pirate Bay, leaving its data center clear of its servers and computers. There were clones that sprouted as it stayed out of the Web. Isohunt expressed its strong passion to preserve its database. Upon its return, the torrent giant was plagued with fake torrents and eventual hullabaloo as the administrators decided to leave out long-time moderators to keep them off radar.
