Marvel and Netflix took the stage at the New York Comic-Con to announce more cast members for "The Punisher" as the production of the spin-off continues.

"Daredevil" star Deborah Ann Woll is set to reprise her role as Karen Page in the Jon Bernthal series, an announcement that did not come as a shock to many.

It would make sense for Frank Castle (Bernthal) and Karen to interact again after the connection established between the characters in "Daredevil" season 2.

Out of all the characters in the Charlie Cox-led hit, Karen was the one that reached Frank on a deeper personal level after learning his story, and Woll's casting in "The Punisher" ensures their connection does not end there.

In related news, Bernthal has been seriously preparing for the role, absorbing everything he can to embody the soldier. He said that he been watching and reading everything "The Punisher" as part of his research.

"Once you devour and eat up and much as you can, my way is to make it as personal as possible," the actor said at the New York Comic-Con as quoted by Screen Geek.

"It was a great pleasure to watch all of those," he continued, adding that he has taken a particular liking to the 2012 film adaptation "Dirty Laundry" with Thomas Jane taking on the titular character.

The project appears to have resonated well with the actor as he confessed that he "loves" that film and that it inspired him even more in playing the role.

"The Punisher" series will also star Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Frank's best friend in the Special Forces who now runs a private military corporation known as Anvil.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach was tapped to play the role of Micro, a former NSA analyst who has knowledge that will help Frank in his crime-fighting endeavors.

These two characters are pulled straight from "The Punisher" comic books. This is not the case for Amber Rose Revah's character Dinah Madani, who appears to be an original character made for the show.

Her character description says she is "a highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent" who has a bone to pick with Frank.

"The Punisher" premieres next year on Netflix.
