"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" might get axed for real, as shooting schedules have been put on hold with a looming casting crisis and producers threatening to cancel the reality show.

Season 9 of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" will then have to wait until the problem has been sorted out by the cast, showrunners and crew. The casting issue began after Siggy Flicker quit last month despite the scheduled shoot. This caused quite a delay since a new housewife has not been hired yet to replace Flicker, basically putting the whole production on hold. Filming supposedly should have taken place on Feb. 1 but nothing has happened so far, according to an anonymous source.

This also put the housewives' talent fees on hold since the stalled production means paydays are also frozen, which affects some of the cast, particularly Teresa Giudice whose husband is serving time behind bars and who needs the money desperately. Giudice wants to start filming immediately because of this, which is unfortunate since no progress can be made without the replacement housewife who is yet to be hired.

To make matters worse, the producers are also threatening the showrunners with cancellation because some of the women in the show have been stirring up trouble here and then. The producers have then made it clear that the housewives will have to get their acts together in order to clear the show out of the red. With the way things are with production though, the future of the show is not too bright.

Right now, there are no announcements or new information on when the show will be back, so fans will have to wait indefinitely until Bravo, the home network of the show, finds a replacement housewife and resume shooting for the 9th season. They may have to do so quickly though since the producers are getting impatient and might cancel if the delay goes on long enough.
