"The Real Housewives of Orange County" will have to settle for one housewife less, as Meghan King Edmonds has left the show.

Edmonds announced recently in her official blog that she will be leaving the show due to the emotional and physical tolls she experienced with the series after three seasons. Edmonds did not specify what exactly happened and never revealed a particular event that made her leave, and it may have been simply the stress the show had caused her.

"Today is a bittersweet day for me. After three seasons of the rollercoaster that is 'The Real Housewives of Orange County' I've decided to hang up my OC Housewife hat. I arrived at this multi-faceted decision after much thought, and then I thought some more. As you might suspect filming this show takes a massive emotional toll: I'm literally filming my real life in real time and engaged in situations and circumstances which can be contentious," said Edmonds.

While her decision may have been quite heavy, she is admittedly happy to be out of the show. She even remarked that no matter how much of the housewives' lives get revealed in the series, the viewers will never see any of them as winners. Edmonds also cited that she was with a newborn child by season 3 of the show and was having difficulties juggling schedules from filming to being a hands-on mom and even had to hire a nanny.

Edmonds noted that the fact that this aspect of her life was not shown in the series is quite saddening since the viewers only got to see one side of her. She was, however, grateful for the opportunity despite the taxing commitment the show asked of her and even claimed she loved being part of the show.

It remains to be seen whether she will be replaced with a new housewife on the show, so fans should stay tuned to Bravo for further announcements.
