Gaming aficionados are in for a treat as the long wait for the hugely anticipated fourth installment of the simulation franchise is over. Sims 4 along with its DLC will be made available on Mac from Feb 17 through digital download. Windows users got access to Sims 4 in September 2014. That being said, the Expansion packs will still not be released by that date.

The digital download can be accessed only through the Origin store. The Sim 4 PC version can be played on your Mac as well.

The initial game pack, the Outdoor retreat was rolled out in January this year. Gamers familiar with the Sims 2 or 3 would have a good idea on what's in store for them. In this version, you get a brand new location where you travel to through your Sim character. The new location is comprised of wooded areas, herbs, and woods inspects. It provides the perfect habitat for a camp and hike. The game also comes with other fun things to do such as roasting marshmallows while setting around a campfire.

The game is available for $22 and can be downloaded exclusively from the Origin website. In the current scenario, there have been no announcements regarding advanced Game Packs or expansion kits, but it's obviously just a matter of time after the Mac version is out. There have been reports of some Sims gamers having received mails that indicated the names of some of the packs that would be probably released. These include City Living expansion, Supernatural content, and a Business Owner pack.

The minimum requirements to play the game include Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion with an Intel Core 2 Duo that has been clocked upwards of 2.4 GHz. You also need to be online to validate the game and a minimum RAM of 4GB and 10 GB of free HDD space. Apart from that an extra 1 GB would be required to facilitate game saves and customized content.
