PS4 and Xbox One gamers will have to wait longer to be able to build a virtual life in "The Sims 4." The latest report claims that the console versions of the life simulation game won't be here anytime soon.

This is reportedly because EA, The Sims Studio and Maxis are having a hard time carrying the PC game over to the said platforms. Reports say that the attempts of the collaborators to bring the popular game to the Xbox One and PS4 always end up with a glitch.

Meanwhile, the track record of console releases for "The Sims" titles is a mixed bag, which does little to help determine a possible release date for "The Sims 4" Xbox One and PS4.

The first installment in the best-selling franchise got PS2 and Xbox counterparts three years after it was released to PC and Mac. Originally released in 2004, "The Sims 2" didn't get console editions until 2006.

Porting from consoles to PC got faster in "The Sims 3," the title preceding "The Sims 4." It only took almost a year and a half for the PS3 and Xbox 360 version to come around.

If producing console versions was supposed to follow the same pace, if not faster, this isn't obviously the case with "The Sims 4," which was released to the PC back in 2014 with the Mac version arriving only early last year.

After that, it seemed the developers have only been working on game packs for the hit simulation game. So far there are two stuff packs and a couple of expansion packs released for "The Sims 4."

The DLC packs for the installment are allegedly holding back the release of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of "The Sims 4." If the focus remains there, the console editions won't see the light of day soon.

Despite this, media outlets report that PS4 and Xbox One players will get to see "The Sims 4" later this year or early next year.

Until then, fans will have to enjoy the Sims life on PC and Mac. More DLC packs are expected to be released to make the game more fun and fresh, including a restaurant-themed pack.
