'The Sims 4' updates: 'Outdoor Retreat' Game Pack to release in January 2015

"The Sims 3" is a big favorite, partly because of the innumerable expansion packs that give it more dimension, realness and things to look forward to. Players get to have a pet, go on an island adventure and experience the university life. Other packs, as The Fuse Joplin enumerated, were Generations, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, World Adventures, Ambitions, and Late Night.

Electronic Arts has made some significant changes in the latest installment of the simulation game franchise. The developer moved away from the open-world design seen on "The Sims 3" and focused more on the instanced-area type design, which is now evident in "The Sims 4." But if there is something that gets players all wound up for the title, it is the Game Packs. Players now clamor for what Electronic Arts and Maxis have to offer in "The Sims 4." Thankfully, the game studios are listening and the first Game Pack, as emphasized by game producer Grant Rodiek, is set to fire up in January 2015.

It will function in the same way the Stuff Packs worked on "The Sims 2."

"About nine years ago, during The Sims 2 days, we introduced Stuff Packs to The Sims franchise to change up the way you could customize your Sim stories. Stuff Packs were focused on a specific theme and included clothing, hairstyles, furniture and décor," Rodiek stated via Cinema Blend.

A description on the official page of the game reads, "For 'The Sims 4', we wanted to continue that tradition while giving you even MORE opportunities to craft the stories you want, since a Game Pack provides new gameplay features, new objects and new clothing based around one central theme."

In turn, the all-new Game Pack will offer new items, clothes and gameplay. IB Times reported that with this pack, players will be able to travel and wander in the forest and camp with friends and family. Players can check out new places, one of which is the Granite Falls. In addition, the Sims will be able to do camping activities like belting out some campfire tunes around the bonfire, roast some weenies and even wear bear costumes for the ultimate outdoor fix.

"The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat" holds a $19.99 price tag, a big shell out everyone hopes will be well worth the money.
