"The Surge" has just received a major expansion, and despite what the name implies, it is far from "A Walk in the Park."

First announced in early November, the new downloadable content (DLC) is set in an abandoned amusement park called CREO World. The new setting takes players out of the warehouse hell hole of the original game and into a more open yet no less deadly environment.

Originally created for CREO employees and their families, the carnival is meant to celebrate the company and its mission to make the world a better place. But just like the rest of the post-apocalyptic world, it is now nothing but a mix of rundown buildings and rusting stacks of metal. For players, there are also the deranged workers and deadly machines to deal with.

After a call from a Search and Rescue team that got lost inside the lethal park, game protagonist Warren's mission is to scour the complex, find out if there are any survivors, and get them out safely.

The DLC's open area and its maze of paths branching out to more paths allow players to explore a never-ending battleground. According to WCCF Tech, the lurking enemies are also far more dangerous than the ones in the original game. The good thing for Warren is that the DLC also contains 16 new weapons, upgraded armor sets, and a load of customization options to help players survive technical and spectacular fights.

To celebrate the launch of the new DLC, "A Walk in the Park is currently half the price on Steam. For those who have been wanting to try out the full game and have not had the chance to do so, now is probably the best time. At $29.99, the Complete Edition with all the DLCs is currently $5 cheaper. Bought separately, the original game is at $19.99 while the "Park" DLC is at $14.99.
