Things are starting to get a lot more complicated in Mystic Falls as things begin to heat up between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) in 1994, while in the present, Elena (Nina Dobrev) finds a new love.

In the episode that will air on Oct. 30 titled "The World Has Turned and Left Me," Elena invites her new friend and fellow Whitmore College med student Liam (Marco James) at a party at the corn maze. Liam may be Elena's hope for moving on from Damon's death, especially since she has already cleared her mind off of him.

Meanwhile, back in the past, Damon and Bonnie have a discussion about going back to the present day. Damon even makes plans about spending time with Elena once they return.

"I have a hot date with my girl tonight," he tells Bonnie (referring to Elena, of course). "I'm thinking dinner and a movie. You know what? Screw the dinner and the movie, skip straight to the good part."

However, Bonnie is not so sure if she can make Damon's plan happen. She reminds him that she is not confident that she can get the spell to take them back to the present right.  She cites that Kai's (Christopher Wood) stories about her regaining her magical powers may not be really true since he is known for being a sociopath.

But Damon seems to have figured it all out. If Kai is indeed tricking them and all his tales about Bonnie's magic are incorrect, then he just has to kill him.

Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice Accola) is be busy cleaning up after all the mess that Enzo (Michael Malarkey) made against Stefan (Paul Wesley.) Caroline also learns that Stefan, after being devastated by the alleged death of his brother Damon along with Bonnie, is contemplating on leaving Mystic Falls forever.
