'The Voice' season 11: Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys to join Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as coaches

"The Voice" season 10 is just about to hit the knockout rounds but there's already information regarding the season that follows, which is shaping up to be the craziest and most historic one yet.

It has been confirmed that Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys will be coaches for "The Voice" season 11. They will be standing in for Pharrell Williams and Christina Aguilera, who will skip the season.

In the midst of Cyrus's iconic Disney show "Hannah Montana" turning 10, the "Wrecking Ball" singer confirmed her "The Voice" season 11 gig on Twitter with a photo of hers on "The Voice" stage.

While her addition comes as a surprise to many, NBC's president for alternative and late night programming, Paul Telegdy, is excited about Cyrus joining "The Voice" family.

"When Miley speaks everyone pays attention. Our artists are very lucky to have the benefit of her instincts and wisdom," Telegdy said in a statement picked up by Today.

"Our viewers will be treated to an inside look at one of the brightest minds in music and the entertainment industry who is at the forefront of pop culture," he added.

To prepare for her "The Voice" season 11 debut, Cyrus will appear in the current season as a key adviser to all four teams recruited by Williams, Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Keys, on the other hand, is yet to talk about her "The Voice" season 11 coach stint but music fans are thrilled to watch the "No One" singer develop aspiring singers and musicians on the show.

Cyrus and Keys taking two of the four spinning red chairs marks the first time in half a decade of "The Voice" that two female coaches are included in the judging and coaching panel.

It remains to be seen if Williams will be back as a coach in "The Voice" in the future. Aguilera, on the other hand, is known to sit out every other season of the show.
