Fans are looking forward to an all-out war when AMC's zombie apocalypse television series "The Walking Dead" returns on Feb. 25. Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) gather their allies for a big showdown.

Many fans were left devastated after episode 8 of season 8 ended with the reveal of Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) being bitten by a walker. One fan even started a petition to fire showrunner Scott Gimple for killing off the character, and many others have rallied behind.

With the passing of the issue, Gimple keeps his job and the series pushes through. A promo video for season 8's episode 9 shows Rick in front of a grave with a cross made out of sticks. Rick is also all fired up in the video telling Negan he is the next one to meet his maker. Fans of the show point out that Rick is wearing his iconic brown jacket in the trailer. The main protagonist of the show is usually fired up when wearing the jacket.

The video also shows a glimpse of Michonne (Danai Gurira) wielding his katana and swinging it against an advancing walker.

Rick, together with the Hilltop Colony, Alexandria, and the Kingdom, will clash against Negan and the Saviors. The remaining episode will focus on "The Last Stand" between the two rival groups with the walkers still at large. There are speculations that Rick's militia will be the first to launch an attack against Negan and the Saviors. However, the teaser video shows Rick and Ezekiel (Khary Payton) in the middle of conversing and are interrupted with an explosion.

Season 8 still managed to generate impressive reviews despite the heartbreaking death of Carl. The most recent season got a 69 percent score rating from Rotten Tomatoes. Episode 9 of season 8 will air on Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
