"The Walking Dead" season 6 is currently in its midseason break and is scheduled to return this February. When it does, the show will continue to ongoing conflict between Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride). Speaking with Variety, series creator Robert Kirkman revealed a few details regarding the characters' relationship.

One thing that Kirkman makes very clear right from the get-go is that the feud between the two is nowhere near being done. As a matter of fact, he pointed out that their conflict will play a major part in the story for the rest of season 6. It is likely that when other people of their group learn about the events in the basement they will begin to take sides.

"The next half of season 6, Morgan and Carol, their continuing antagonistic relationship and their posturing against each other and trying to figure each other out and not really liking each other, their conflict is a big part of the next half of the season. The confrontation that starts in that basement does continue through the season and will come to a head. We'll see the relationship changing and evolving and growing in cool and interesting ways."

Kirkman also touched on the subject of Carol's determination and stated that if things went differently she would have killed Morgan just as easily as she killed Lizzie (Brighton Sharbino). He reasoned that this is why Carol was mad during their confrontation -- she knew she could kill Morgan but she didn't want to, believing that he was forcing it upon her.

During their conflict, however, the captured member of the Wolves took Denise (Merritt  Wever) hostage. Kirkman reiterated that the fans should be very worried regarding her safety. Despite the threat that this remaining Wolf poses, Kirkman did also state that Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his band of Saviors would be the biggest threat yet.
