'The Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers: Daryl Dixon to be killed off?

The Walking Dead - DarylAMC

As previously reported, Robert Kirkman has explained that no character on "The Walking Dead" is safe and even main lead Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) could be killed off. As if in response to this, AMC has just announced a new show starring Norman Reedus, which hints his character will be killed off this season of "The Walking Dead."

The series is titled "Ride with Norman Reedus" and will debut in 2016. The first season will be comprised of six one-hour episodes that follow Reedus and a guest star as they ride their motorcycles to a different location and visit notable local areas such as bike shops, smokehouses and tattoo parlors.

However, because of this new show's announcement, it is heavily hinted that he won't be sticking around for long in "The Walking Dead." According to a report from Cinema Blend, it is possible that his character Daryl Dixon will finally bite the dust and be killed off.

As previously reported, series creator Robert Kirkman has stated that if there was one popular character he would likely kill off, it would be Daryl. The character is very popular, which makes many believe he will never be killed off on the show as it might affect ratings, but Kirkman has made it clear that even Daryl is not safe.

Daryl is also not present in the original "The Walking Dead" comic books, which means his character arc is solely based on Reedus and the writers' creativity. Killing off his character may draw in high ratings for one episode but the risk is that the rest of the season might see viewers lose interest now that their favorite character is gone.

Cinema Blend also points out that it is also possible that Reedus will be able to do his new show while still doing "The Walking Dead." Scheduling for the two shows have not yet been revealed and if there are no conflicting production dates then the actor may be able to do both projects per year.
