"The Walking Dead" season 6 returns in a few days, and fans must prepare for more insane conflicts, threats, a crazy Rick, new characters and quite possibly the biggest and most horrendous throng of walkers that has ever terrorized the gang.

The show comes back on air with an episode titled "First Time Again." Although fans have waited for long agonizing months for the show's return, this installment will reward their patience with 90 minutes of pure action, answers and thrills.

With the premiere date nearing, AMC also dropped a batch of last-ditch promo stills to keep fans on tenterhooks as they wait for the moment they can finally check back with Rick and the group on "The Walking Dead" season 6. Check the photos out here.

Fans will meet new characters in the new season. One of which is Paul Monroe aka Jesus, whose inclusion was just recently confirmed. Jesus is someone fans of the comic books by Robert Kirkman have always wanted to see in the series. "Luck" star Tom Payne was cast to play the role.

With Jesus joining the mix, media outlets think it is only a matter of time before Negan, whose storyline in the comics intersects perfectly with that of Jesus, will show up possibly in "The Walking Dead" season 6. A certain key character's death takes place in the hands of this fan-favorite baseball bat-wielding villain.

Meanwhile, it looks like Rick can no longer distinguish what's right from wrong when the show returns, with his fight for his life becoming the fight to keep Alexandria safe not only from flesh-eaters, which are made to look a thousand times more horrible, but also other survivors who kill fellow survivors.

With Morgan, a complete opposite of Rick, joining the group in Alexandria, those who aren't all for Rick's ways will see him as a beacon of hope to stop him before things go out of hand. "The Walking Dead" season 6 premieres Oct. 11. Here is the synopsis for the premiere:

"Rick and the group are still having trouble assimilating into Alexandria. Will a new threat bring them closer together or drive them further apart?"
