"The Walking Dead" season 6 is about to get even more violent than before as the second half of the season will be introducing the violent psychopath antagonist known as Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). However, according to actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, Negan will potentially form a strange relationship with Rick's son.

"I'm interested in the relationship between Negan and Carl and Carl and Rick," Lincoln told Cinema Blend. "There's a very complicated, extraordinary psychology between those characters."

Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) may not get to interact with Negan much in season 6 but it is likely that Lincoln's statement teases what may unfold in season 7. Negan's appearance in season 6 may be limited to a short cameo appearance or at least to commit an iconic scene in the comic books where he kills a main character with his baseball bat.

As the report points out, there is a moment in the comic books where Carl does try to take out Negan but ultimately fails. Instead of getting angry at the boy, Negan is impressed by Carl's ruthlessness and determination and later on takes Carl as a protege, allowing the two to form a strange mutual relationship out of fear and respect.

Of course this relationship will not sit well with Rick, who has, in both the comic books and television series, been shown to be very prone to be over-controlling in regard to his son. Rick has on multiple occassions restricted Carl's actions and at times Carl struggles with this as he believes his father fails to see him as an adult.

The report points out, however, that before this relationship between Negan and Carl unfolds, the series will focus first on Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his group as they have been apprehended by Negan's men during the midseason finale. The rest of season 6 is also going to introduce Negan's rival, Paul "Jesus" Monroe (Tom Payne).

"The Walking Dead" season 6B premieres this Feb. 14.
