One of the most highly anticipated villains coming up on "The Walking Dead" season 6 is Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, leader of the Saviors. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, comic book creator Robert Kirkman explained just how different and how strong Negan is going to be when the show returns after its midseason break.

Kirkman first confirms that Negan will cause a major shake-up in the series and that the show will never be the same again due to Negan's interactions with the core cast of characters. Kirkman then relates how Negan and his band of Saviors differ from the other villains the series has seen such as the Wolves and the Hunters.

He explains that the Hunters, the band of cannibals from Terminus, had a lot of weaknesses and then states that the Wolves, as powerful and deadly as they could be, were still a band of psychotic people that lacked direction. The Saviors, according to Kirkman, are "dangerously organized" and that Negan, in many ways, is similar to Rick.

"His [Negan] morality dial a few clicks away from Rick toward the darker aspects of his personality, but is still an intellectual and capable leader who's kept his group alive against all odds just as long as Rick has," he states. "It's really the best encountering the best. When these two forces come head to head, things are gonna get interesting."

As pointed out in a report from iDigital Times, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) has also done very cruel things in the past and has dipped into the dark side several times on the show, only for his humanity to be brought back by his son or other core members of the group. 

Negan, on the other hand, is known to comic book fans as the most savage of Rick's adversaries as he is responsible for causing an all-out war in the midst of the zombie apocalypse and the death of several main characters.

"The Walking Dead" season 6B premieres this Feb. 14.
