Walkers in "The Walking Dead" are just a minor problem in a zombie-infested town. It appears there are worse things than flesh-eating zombies — human villains.

Just when people thought that the Governor (David Morrissey) and Gareth (Andrew J. West) were the worst that could happen to Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) gang, another one — even much more dangerous — is set to arrive.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Negan, the comic book's most notorious antagonist, will be coming to wreak havoc in the second half of "The Walking Dead" season 6.

The character, who will be portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is described to be a mad man who chooses a baseball bat with barbed wires as his weapon. He and his group will serve as the newest hurdle for Rick and his group.

Series creator Robert Kirkman hinted that Morgan's character will bring some serious shakeups to the series, permanently.

"Negan is kind of an atomic bomb that's going to be dropped on the show and the show will probably never be the same after that," he told the news outlet.

The prologue scene towards the end of the midseason finale episode teased the new group called the Saviors. Apparently, Negan is the leader of this new group considered to be even worse than the Wolves and Hunters (from Terminus) because they are well organized.

Kirkman assured that when Rick's and Negan's gang meet, "things are gonna get interesting."

But fans should not only look forward to the kind of trouble Rick and the gang will be in with Negan in the picture. Showrunner Scott Gimple teased that he's not the only serious threat.

"Some of the scariest people in the back half of the season are our people," Gimple revealed to TV Guide.

"These characters are at their strongest right now, but the problem is, the threats of the world are also at their strongest," he continued.

Gimple promised that the second half of the season "will involve some crying and screaming at the TV set" when it returns to AMC on Feb. 14 at 9 p.m. EST.
