Carl could be facing a lot of trouble when season 6 of "The Walking Dead" makes its return to television.

The show's midseason finale featured Rick and the rest of the group attempting to escape as the walkers closed in on them, and here is where things could get dicey for Carl, according to iDigital Times.

(spoilers ahead)

If the show follows the same storyline already told in the pages of "The Walking Dead" comic, then things will not turn out well for Carl, and he may even end up getting shot in the face. To be more specific, Carl may end up getting shot in the eye.

Carl's injury may eventually lead to something worse, with him potentially becoming a liability to the rest of the group. If that happens, then it would not be beyond the realm of possibility for Carl to make his final farewell in the sixth season of "The Walking Dead."

For what it's worth, the show has not always followed the path laid out in the pages of the comic books, so Carl's fate is not exactly sealed at this point.

As always, fans will have to stay tuned if they want to know what happens to Carl.

There are other reasons to tune in to season six of "The Walking Dead," and one of those is the probable debut of Negan, according to Moviepilot.

Negan, who will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, has yet to be given an official debut date inside "The Walking Dead," so fans have had to speculate on when he might actually show up.

Morgan has also promised to portray Negan as faithfully as possible to the character who appears in the comic books so that should help put fans at ease, especially those who have been unsure about the introduction of the new character.

Season six of "The Walking Dead" will return to television on Valentine's Day.
