The latest season of the highly popular zombie apocalypse television series "The Walking Dead" is now just weeks from being released. With the impending new season's release, fans are now once again wondering about the questions that were left unanswered in the last season, including the identity of the main character that was killed by Negan in the previous season's finale episode.

While the identity of the character that was killed off is still very much a mystery at this point, AMC was kind enough to release the full synopsis for the first part of Season 7. AMC is apparently still going to be following its standard 16-episode pattern and will be releasing eight episodes for Season 7A, followed by a two-month hiatus, which will then be followed by another eight episodes for Season 7B.

The recently released synopsis reveals that the entire first half of the season will be mainly focusing on "beginning again." This will likely be showcasing the characters adjusting to their new world as the entire group is now subjected to Negan's brutal regime.

Rick himself will also be featured as a completely different person as he will reportedly be emasculated by Negan following the shift in power within the group. Reports have also claimed that there might even be others in the group who will be challenging Rick. There are those who want to take over his position as leader by taking advantage of his weakened state after facing Negan.

As for the character that met his/her demise at the end of Negan's bat — which he calls Lucille — some reports have speculated that it could either be Glen or Abraham. Both of the characters have of course proven themselves to be part of the close-knit group, so saying goodbye to either one of them would certainly be difficult for fans of the show.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 is set to premiere a new episode on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
