"A Way Out" is an upcoming third-person, multiplayer adventure game that's set to be released sometime in 2018. The game puts players in the shoes of protagonists and convicted prisoners Vincent and Leo as they attempt to work together and break out of jail. Directed by Hazlelight Studios, "A Way Out" was first announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017.

The reveal trailer for "A Way Out" was uploaded to EA Electronic's YouTube channel on Jun. 10.

Advertised as a co-op adventure, the trailer featured the protagonists working together alongside the game's split-screen presentation. While cutscenes featured Leo and Vincent together, the snippets of gameplay so far, reveal the two taking on different roles during their attempted escape.

EA Electronics also uploaded a gameplay trailer on their YouTube channel.

Alongside the trailer itself, was an explanation of how the game's split-screen would work. According to EA, the events Vincent and Leo both experience will not be happening in sync. An example of this is when Vincent first arrives in prison, while Leo can be controlled by the player, Vincent is stuck in a cutscene. The players will experience different scenarios depending on the character they choose to play.

The gameplay trailer also explained how the same scenario can be solved in different ways, depending on which of the protagonists try to solve it. The example in the trailer focused on a specific mission where Leo and Vincent needed to grab a laundry cart. If the player approached the scenario with Vincent, he ended up bribing the guard for the cart. If they approached the guard with Leo, he ended up taking a more violent approach to the situation and slammed the guard's head into the metal bars of the cell.

Players also do not have the option to play with an AI controlled Vincent or Leo, they have to play with another person online or with a friend in local co-op mode.
